Hi Friends! My name is Pipurr and if you're lucky you'll hear me purr. I'm a black female who was born in 2013. I am so lucky to be at Heartland. The nice people here rescued me from Chicago Animal Care and Control and brought me to Northbrook to wait for my forever home. I'm an overall sweet, laid-back cat. My hobbies include hanging out with the volunteers, watching the wildlife outside and waiting for my next meal. I'm pretty as a princess but not nearly as demanding. My purrfect home has great food, clean litter boxes, fun toys, plenty of spaces for napping and a loving family. You may find me hanging out on a shelf in the cat room. If you don't see me, I may be taking one of my many daily naps. It's okay, just ask a volunteer to wake me up.

About Heartland Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

Heartland Animal Shelter is a no-kill humane 501 c 3 organization dedicated to finding homeless pets forever homes while educating the public on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets in order to help with the pet overpopulation problem.

Dr. Herbert Preiser, DVM and founder of Heartland Animal Shelter wanted to make a difference by saving the lives of pets who might otherwise be euthanized because of the over-population of unwanted pets. Dr. Preiser opened Heartland Animal Shelter in October of 2002.

Heartland's vision is to eliminate euthanasia to any adoptable animal. Heartland asks for your support by spreading the word about the importance of why pets should be spayed or neutered in order to prevent overpopulation of cats and dogs. Together we can make a difference!
