AVAILABLE 10-16-16 Little Mercer was found roaming around a local High School and brought to the Shelter by a good Samaritan. This little guy is such a sweetheart. He's great on leash and seems to be housetrained as he is always ready to go outside to relieve himself. Although he came in wearing a collar no one has called or come looking for him. Mercer is a mature gentleman who is lap size and has been known to sit on one. Unfortunately, this little guy tested positive for heart worms which can be treated, but it's a bit costly (the adoption fee could be waived and the Shelter might be able to help a little with the treatment). PLEASE if you have room in your heart, home and can afford to have his heart worms treated, call or come to the Shelter in Elizabeth City to meet little Mercer ASAP. If you visit, be sure to ask to see Mercer - the Shelter is currently so full that he has to be housed in a small cage in a back room.
