This adorable terrier-mix girl was recently rescued from a hoarding situation in Kern County. Snowflake was born into the hoarding situation so she has never been a "normal" dog. She has never walked on leash, been held, or received the love and attention every dog needs. For these reasons Snowflake is still extremely shy and will need a patient and calm adopter to bring her out of her shell.
Snowflake is currently living in foster care and is making more and more progress each day. A home with older children would be fine for Snowflake, but little kids would probably really scare her. Snowflake needs to learn all the basics of dog behavior like walking in leash, "sit", "down", "come" etc. She needs an adopter willing to help bring her out of her shell and show her the world (and people) are not so scary!
Snowflake is about 1-2 years old and weighs 7 pounds. She is an adorable small size and perfect to carry with you wherever you go! Snowflake does great with other dogs and may be able to live with cats.
Here is what her foster mom says, "Just wanted to let you know that all is great with Snowflake! Here she is taking over my desk chair. When my son is here she follows him everywhere, sits on his lap while he does his homework etc. It's the cutest!! She is still afraid to go outside, but I bought a sling carrier and we are going to give it a try when the rain stops. She pees on a training pad always, and we are trying to get her to pee on it outside. I think she is making great progress!"
Please submit an adoption application for Snowflake if you think you can help this shy dog have a new lease on life!
