My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption fee on this dog is $350.

We have special Requirements for Adopting a Puppy and a separate Puppy Questionnaire that must be completed on puppies. Please see our Requirements for Adopting a Puppy or EMAIL us at info@gcgsr.org for more information.

Zabrina is a petite female 6 month old Malinois. She was an owner surrender to rescue when the family quickly realized they were not ready to handle the energy of this breed.

Zabrina"s current foster home is a ranch setting where she is kept very active and busy most of the day. She loves running alongside the ATV, swimming in the pond, and playing chase with at least 6 other dogs. Her best buddy is her foster brother Nixon, a large 6 month old GSD, who she chases and wrestles with constantly.

Typical of a Malinois puppy, Zabrina is very mouthy and would not be appropriate for a family with small children. She has some ball drive, but not enough for a serious working dog. She does not appear to have high prey drive, so its possible she may be able to live with smaller animals, with proper training and supervision.

Zabrina is affectionate and tolerates being picked up and snuggled fairly well for a Malinois. She loves her crate, and when not active outside, prefers the safe confines of it. She is housebroken, and has descent manners, but occasionally tries to sneak her way up on the couch. She travels well in the car, and walks fairly well on a leash.

Zabrina is looking for a very active home with avid runners, hikers, or similar lifestyles. She would greatly benefit from a structured obedience training program to challenge her mind, and as an additional social outlet.
