Tucker is a happy healthy Newfie. He is eager to please, has mastered level one training and has several tricks he'll be happy to do for treats. He is a social butterfly, the first to greet each new dog on the playground. He fetches well, and will stay by your side constantly.

He has very well-behaved, good with children, and will sit content as long as you are there. He loves water, and would love a farm pond to paddle around in. He follows commands well, and rewards you with a giant licky kiss. He is good with other dogs, and also cats. He has never had house-training issues, and can wait to go outside. He also loves cold weather and playing in the snow.

Reason For Rehoming

Because of financial situations, we have downsized our housing and now have a small yard. Also, both my daughter & I work full time and are not home as much. We have been taking Tucker to the dog park when possible and to Doggie Daycare once a week to help give him socialization and running space.

We just feel badly that we don't have time or space to give him like he needs. He is absolutely a wonderful dog, extremely well-behaved, and ready for 2nd level training. My daughter acquired him with intentions of pursuing service dog training, but finances have not allowed. Or time.

If you would like to consider offering Tucker a loving, forever home, please fill out our Request To Meet A Pet form here:

Once received, we will contact you to discuss your request and set up a mutually convenient time to meet Tucker and their owner in their home.

About Oklahoma City Find My Pet A Home

About Our Rescue Group...

We help keep beloved family dogs and cats out of local shelters and rescues!

Oklahoma shelters are rescues are filled to capacity, leaving pet owners who can no longer care for their pet with nowhere to turn. Many pets are needlessly being put to sleep, when wonderful, loving homes could have been found for them.
Being placed in a shelter is a very stressful experience for all pets - and having to do so is heartbreaking for their owners. We offer a very good alternative, allowing pets to stay in the loving care of their owners while a new home is located for them.

We have helped many Oklahoma City area pet owners in need to place their pet in a home where they have great peace of mind in knowing that their pet is being cherished, well cared for and kept safe, happy and healthy.

Come Meet Our Pets...

In most instances, our pets stay with their owners until a new home can be located. There are some situations which require a more urgent placement, and in these instances, we look for loving foster homes to care for these pets until a permanent home can be located.

Our Adoption Process...

When a pet is placed with our organization, our staff create a very honest and compelling adoption story about the pet, using the information provided to us.
We then spread the word about this pet's need for a new home through a wide variety of online services, and through local outreach.

Interested parties are directed to fill out a formal request to meet a pet, providing in-depth information about themselves.

Before a potential adopter is introduced to a pet, we do careful reference screening and a criminal records check.

Should the pet's owner and the adoptive party agree to an adoption, a formal agreement is entered into, requiring the new owner to agree to keep in touch, ensure the pet's physical and emotional well-being, and provide a safe, happy and healthy home.

They are required to agree that they will not surrender the pet to a shelter or give away the pet - but rather they are to contact our organization so that we can find another suitable home, in the event that they are unable to fulfill their commitment.

The owners deliver the pet to the new owners, so that they can do a home inspection prior to leaving the pet in the new owner's care.

Our organization provides follow-up services, contacting the new owners after the first week, and then every 45 days for the first nine months post-adoption. This helps ensure the pet is being well cared for, and that the new owners have any support they need in adjusting to life with their new companion,
