Meet Valor! My name means “great courage in the face of danger.” My foster mom and dad decided to give me this name after my owner died and the mean people who were supposed to take care of me dumped me in a high kill shelter. I was so scared but now I've been in my foster home for a couple months and I have learned so much! I love being able to run free in the yard and go for walks too. My foster sisters have been so welcoming to me and we are always playing together outside. Inside the house I love just hanging out with foster mom and dad. I'm not allowed on the furniture but that's okay because they wrap me up in blankets on the softest of dog beds. I am really working on my manners, but I would prefer a home with teenage children or only adults, because I can’t help but get excited and jump up on people. The trainer is helping me and my foster parents work on learning "out" and "leave it" because I don't like to let them take things from me even if they are bad for my health. Sometimes I’m a little unsure of new humans, but foster mom really helps me come out of my shell. I’m a big boy but I’m really just a mush. If you’d like to adopt me, please fill out an adoption application at www.adore-a-bullie.org/#!adopt-a-dog/cely
Adore-A-Bullie Paws and Claws was born from the passion of a small group of individual rescuers. We were overwhelmed with sadness for the large number of companion animals surrendered to the NYC shelter system each day and felt we needed to do something to help.
Our goal is to develop a network of experienced fosters who can prepare shelter animals and strays for life in a forever home. We seek to find the most appropriate match for each companion animal to minimize returns and ensure happy tails.
Furthermore, we hope to increase awareness about shelter animals and responsible pet ownership through community education. We also aim to decrease the number of homeless animals through our spay/neuter assistance program.

Our Adoption Process...
Adoption fees vary by age and health status. We require an application for adoption, personal and veterinary references, permission from landlord, phone interview, and a home visit. When feasible, we will also conduct a meet and greet with the potential adopter and pet.
