This is Sam, a 9 year old neuter male yorkie that weighs in now at 4.40 lbs, up to date with shots, neutered, heart worm negative and has a micro-chip. When Sam came into Abby's he weighed 4.2 lbs. Sam is slowly putting weight back on. Sam had a very nice family but he became ill and they did all they could to fix him but just got too much for them. We do have his history of what his family did for him. Sam is healthy now but does have a very sensitive stomach. He is a picky eater but has gotten better in the last month and he loves his nighttime treats. Sam is not a social dog, he doesn't like to be held or pick .He is NOT a lap dog! He is fine with other dogs and even the foster homes cat. He is potty train if you get him out a lot. He sleeps a lot during the day but will come into the family room with us in the evening. Sometimes he will play with HIS Pig!!! Or just sit or lay on the floor. He doesn't go for walks but seems to be ok in the car.
Sam has the most wonderful eyes, he will look at you sometimes to figure out what you are doing. He comes into the kitchen to see what you are fixing.
Sam needs a very special person or family that will except him the way he is. Maybe down the road he will be come comfortable being picked up, being a lap dog.
