At 2, Harriet is the perfect age. Past that puppy stage, but just getting started in her life. She is a wonderful girl who is anxious to please. When you go by her kennel, she will come up and wag her tail really hard because she is so happy to see you. She is sweet, easy to leash and good on walks. Harriet does well around other dogs. She is smart too. The volunteers think she might be housebroken and she knows how to sit. She loves to run and jump and is so happy when she is out in the yard. She’ll jump up next to you for affection. She is not shy about wanting love. Harriet has been at the shelter since Oct 15, 2016. HARRIET - ID#A407752

About Santa Barbara County Animal Services - Santa Maria

About Our Shelter...

Volunteers needed now. Are you an animal lover, do you have a couple of hours each week to volunteer? Many opportunities available. Work with dogs, cats, bunnies, office work, fostering and more. For more details on volunteering contact Stacy Silva at (805) 934-6981 at The Santa Maria Animal Center.

We care for stray and homeless animals, including cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, rabbits and other animals such as chickens, guinea pigs or iguanas. We always hope the family will come to reclaim their lost pet, but if not, we work to find a loving new family for them.

We ensure that dogs are current on their rabies vaccination and license.

At Animal Services, our goal is to ensure that all the animals in our County have a safe place to live. We work hard to find loving homes for the many dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals that come into our care. Together, with community partners and concerned citizens, we are making sure that all these animals have a "Forever Home!"

Donate to Our Shelter...
