'Everyone has that dream home, dream family they so desire, and I am no different. I dream of what it would be like to be cozy and comfortable in a loving FOREVER home. My name is Foxy, and here is what my human friends know from my past and what I can remember:
A long time ago, a fabulous caring rescuer saved me from the streets of Puerto Rico where I didn't stand a chance. She took me under her wing and took care of me until she felt I was ready to move onto an Adoption Center where my forever family could find me. My rescuer got my plane ticket and I flew all of the way to Philly, where my new friends from Providence Animal Center picked me up. I was shy and scared at the Adoption Center but after living in two loving foster homes here, a family fell in love with me. I went home with them and that night, I got away. I didn't mean to, I just was so scared and overwhelmed. When I was found, I moved back into one of my loving foster homes and have been there ever since.
I have been a really good girl in my foster home and find friendship and lots of comfort in the resident boxer. I cuddle with her and play with her and follow her around - she is very good for me. She is so good for me that I need to have a friendly dog in my forever home. I adore most other dogs and am very good with cats, too.
My great qualities don't stop there. I am housetrained and crate trained and calm. I am up to date on my vaccines, spayed, and microchipped. I am a special little 40 lbs pup looking for a very special home. I would do best in a very calm, quiet home- preferably with a single female. I am extremely shy and hesitant in all new situations so I need someone who will understand that this is who I am and be willing to love me just as I am. Please contact my best human friend, Dayna, at email@example.com with a completed adoption application if you'd like to be considered to adopt me! I hope that I am the one to make you smile and you're the one to make my dreams come true. Love, Foxy'
Providence Animal Center is funded solely by adoption fees and donations. Adoption fees vary per animal, please call the Adoption Center and reference this animal's ID number in order to obtain accurate fee information. The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed blend for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed blend. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
To foster or adopt this dog please call Providence Animal Center at 610-566-1370 during adoption hours. You may also email firstname.lastname@example.org. Can't foster or adopt? Donate to help our homeless pets, www.providenceac.org/donate.
Our adoption requirements and a printable application form may be found on our website. With your adoption fee you get a lot for FREE! All the pets adopted from Providence Animal Center are given wellness exams, are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped. Additionally, dogs over 7 months old are heartworm tested and all felines are tested for FELV/FIV. Adopters may receive discounted wellness care from our adoptions health department, and also get a complimentary wellness visit at a participating private veterinary practice up to 30 days post-adoption and the pets are given personality evaluations. It doesn't stop there- a gift of one month of pet health insurance is included along with unlimited phone consultations and e-mail exchanges with our trained feline and canine behavior experts.
Not ready to adopt yet? You can still guarantee the safety and well-being of any of our dogs or puppies by temporarily fostering one or more right in your own home.
