Facts about Spike

  • Breed: Golden Retriever Mix
  • Color: Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
In 2011 Elephant Nature Park rescued many displaced dogs from the severed floods in Bangkok. Spike was one of those lucky puppies! He has been living at ENP ever since. He is about 5 years old now and hopes that its not too late to get a family of his own! Spike is known around ENP for his love of water. Spike is pretty easy going and walks very well on a leash. He lives in a pack with 6 other dogs and does very well with other dogs with a slow introduction. He is about 50lbs and has a gorgeous, fluffy coat. We think Spike looks like a golden retriever but aren’t sure what else is in there. Because he loves walks so much we think he would do alright in as an apartment pup.

Spike is looking forward to long walks in the park & puppy kisses on the couch.

If you're interested in adopting him please email us at sunshinecanyondr@gmail.com. Thanks!

About Sunshine Canyon Dog Rescue

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process - PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING!

- Complete our adoption application.
- Email your finished application to sunshinecanyondr@gmail.com. Please put the dogs name in the subject line.
- Be patient & understanding. It may take a couple days for us to go through your application & get back to you. We are dedicated to finding the right home for each dog. The dog you are interested in might not be a good fit for you but that doesn't mean its the end of the road. We will work to find you a compatible dog!
- Upon approval we will discuss details of pick up & follow up care.
- Because the majority of our dogs come from out of state; most of our adoptions are done before you meet the dog. We make up for this by doing a mandatory 1 week foster period. We treat it like an adoption (w/ contract & payment) but you have a week to make sure its a good fit. If you decide within in the foster period that you are not compatible, we will reimburse your adoption fee. All we ask is that you continue to foster until we can find a forever home. Our adopters often say that our foster period is much better than a pressured 15 minute meet n greet in a shelter. We cover most medical costs within this week period.
- After the week period we are still a resource for you! We are always happy to help from training to kinds of dog food, we are here for you.
