Delilah's face and body was bit and scarred over and over again. Gray hairs growing on her scarred black body paint a heartbreaking picture of her pitiful past life. Despite all the abuse Delilah holds no grudges and she is the sweetest, happiest little black hippo who loves to give hugs and slobbery kisses in exchange for belly rubs. Delilah loves people and even kids. She loves to play with toys, hang in a pool on hot days, roll around on the grass and be around people. Because she was used as a bait dog Delilah is still overcoming her fears of dogs so her ideal family would be one where she will be an only fur-child or a family that is willing to give her time to adjust to being a second dog. Delilah needs a hero and a loving kind soul to look past her history and her looks, someone to understand her fears and help her overcome them, someone to love her big heart, someone to give her a chance.
Delilah would love to attend a board and train program where she can learn to be an ever better dog but she needs a foster or a forever family to help her practice all the new skills she's eager to learn. Please share to help this chunky monkey find her American dream: a good education and a loving family.
