Butterscotch: white/orange/black calico, short hair, declawed, female, born 6/10/15, #11374 Beau: white with brown/black tabby, short hair, declawed, male, born 6/10/15, #11376
Butterscotch and Beau were born in Rescue House foster care. Though they were adopted, they came back to us after their guardians decided they didn’t want them anymore.
Butterscotch is the queen bee and definitely a diva. She will jump all over you and sit in front of you at your desk—she demands that you pay attention to her and will howl piteously if she’s not getting her due share. However, Butterscotch is perfectly happy as soon as you are giving her love! Her purr flips on in a microsecond and she likes to listen when you talk, tipping her head sideways to better hear. Though Butterscotch is certainly a bossy cat, and will share a loud meow or growl if she is not happy or she needs to relay that she’s boss, she is not aggressive with her companions. Beau is a shy guy compared to his sister, yet he’s very sweet. He loves and looks up to Butterscotch in everything (and is happy to let her have her way and first dibs). Beau prefers a quieter environment with people he knows well; when first approached he may crouch down and doesn’t want a hand coming straight down to his head, yet approach from the side and Beau loves those chin scritches and around his cheeks and then down his back. As he learns to trust you, Beau will approach you for more of those pets. Beau is quite playful and will toss little mice around the room, talking in little chirps of joy as he plays. Butterscotch and Beau MUST be adopted together.
Beau and Butterscotch are fine living with easygoing cats who can accept Butterscotch immediately establishing that she’s in charge. Beau needs his sister yet also really enjoys other cats. They have been fine with a dog who is used to cats. A quieter home without young children would be best.
They are studies in contrast, yet Butterscotch and Beau are both sweet kitties yearning for acceptance and love. Will they find their true forever home with you?
