Sophie's Story...
This is an all-around special girl. Sophie is a small Labrador mix, about a year and a half old and just a bit over 24 pounds. She is a confident dog and brings out the best in other dogs, even in those tending to be aggressive. She just loves her humans and is okay around felines. Sophie is a medium to low energy dog and we expect she would be fine with children thus making her a great companion animal for a family. Sophie was rescued by our sister organization in Mexico where she was spayed, dewormed and given all her vaccines. Sophie is now waiting in British Columbia for her forever loving family. This little lady is an absolute jewel so if you think she would fit perfectly in your family, contact us at info.pvca@gmail.com for an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sophie, a Nanaimo Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Nanaimo, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Nanaimo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Nanaimo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Nanaimo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Nanaimo paves the way for another one to be saved.
