My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tia Dalma: I will be free, and when I am, I will give you my heart, and we will be together always... but if only you had a heart to give. -from 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest'
Well as it turns out our sweet Dalma is definitely free to give you her heart...and she will. Dalma is a one year old yellow lab mix weighing 35 lbs (perfect lap size!). This little darling is already house and crate trained. She is great on leash and very much enjoys her daily walks. She is well behaved on trips, just enjoys the ride. Dalma is the kind of girl who absolutely loves everyone she meets. She even visited her foster mom's paralyzed sister and she was extremely well mannered and friendly. Hmmm possible future as a therapy dog? She is great with kids, other dogs, and is feline friendly. She is very intelligent and has taken a lot of her cues from her foster fur siblings. Having had no official training she learned to lay down and patiently wait for treats instead of begging. She hasn't quite mastered sit but foster mom says she either stands or lays down. Dalma loves to quietly entertain herself when playing with her toys. She loves getting attention but is never demanding. She happily accepts any loving offers for a hug or a pat on the head. She enjoys being near her people, just finds a spot nearby and peacefully naps. Dalma still needs some work on her recall (coming when called) and will need a secure yard. She does enjoy a good adventure and has been known to seize the opportunity to take herself for a walk and explore. Opportunity can also come in the form of an open door left open too long as well. This, of course, is quite workable with a little patience and some additional training. Dalma is already spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, current on preventatives, and micro chipped. She is ready to find the love(s) of her life in what will be her forever home. Dalma will gladly give you her heart and be with you always. Are you ready to give yours to Dalma?
