Here's what the humans have to say about me:
9 year old Ricky was surrendered by his owner who was not able to give him the care he needed. He is scared and nervous to find himself in a shelter but is learning that going out for walks and playtime is fun. He enjoys jumping up on laps to get some extra attention and will give a kiss in return. A quiet home with a steady routine will bring out the best in this senior. He can’t wait to find his forever family.. As a senior dog his adoption fee is waived for adopters 65 years old and older and $50 for everyone else. A $5 license fee may also apply for Georgetown residents.
The shelter will be closed all Wednesdays as usual plus January 1 - 2nd for the holidays.
The application/screening process for potential adopters usually takes about 24 hours except when it falls over a weekend or holiday, and then it may take two or three days. We ask that potential adopters please be patient with us; we are only trying our best to ensure that the homeless pets in our care get the best possible home. All cats and dogs adopted from our shelter are spayed or neutered (as Texas law mandates).
Our adoption fee is currently $70 for non-residents and $75 for residents*.
The adoption fee includes:
spaying/neutering
vaccinations (appropriate to species and age)
heartworm or feline leukemia test (appropriate to species and age)
de-worming medication
microchip (a tiny ID tag inserted under the skin, which allows your pet to be returned to you quickly)
There is a $5 Pet License fee added to the adoption fee if the adopter lives inside the City Limits of Georgetown.
