A - RANGER's Story...
Hi, my name is RANGER. What’s yours? Nice to meet ya!

Hey! Before you get attached to me, read all the way to the bottom. You will see that I am still in Houston, TX but I want to get OUT of Houston and OUT of Texas so I can have a really good life. I want to see Texas in my rear view mirror. A nice person came along and took me in and, now, I am ready to hit the road to your house! Uh, make that “our” house, OK?

Wanna know more about me? OK, here goes! I am an Australian Shepherd/Lab mix. I am almost 6 months old. I will probably be about 50 pounds when I become a full-grown man, I mean doggie! I will have all of my shots and be neutered before I go to live at your house. Uh, how about calling it “our” house, OK? Those funny-looking creatures, named humans, I think they are called, told me that they think that I am pretty darn cute. What do YOU think, huh?

Can you stand hearing more good stuff about me? I am a nice and happy boy. I am a friendly guy and love being loved on and giving back love to my peeps. I walk well on a leash and I play well with other friendly doggies. I need an active lifestyle - - like maybe hiking and walking and running and swimming. You name it! I have no interest in cats so maybe, I’m not sure, but maybe I could live with a cat. I reserve the right to change my mind though! OK? As for little people named “kids”, I am a big ol’ puppy who doesn’t always know where I will land, so I’d better not be around small kids.

Oh, how I would love to have my own home and some peeps to cuddle with and they could love me and take good care of me. That is my first dream! My second dream is all about treats and playing and romping with my new family. We could play catch in the back yard, throw a Frisbee, go for walks or hikes and do all the things good buddies do together. Ah, I can see it all now!

My foster mom loves me SO much that she only wants me to fly to my new home even if a pet transport truck was available. See my adoption information below.

If you would like to take me home (and you know you do), please email mpringle001@comcast.net and she can get me on my way to a new and loving home! My adoption fee is $650 USD and includes my vetting, neutering, microchip, health certificate, travel crate AND transportation on United Airlines from Houston, TX to areas in the Northeast U. S., North Central U. S., Northwest U. S., and Canada and will be arranged by the rescue group. (This is a courtesy posting.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

A - RANGER, a Portland Australian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever for sale in Portland, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
