Rocky's Story...
Rocky is an adorable, snuggly kitten who definitely still has the kitten crazies. He loves to snuggle and purrs so loudly it can be deafening. Rocky was found in a Waffle House parking lot at the end of September. He was very skinny and covered in fleas. Now he is a healthy, active teenager who can be a typically picky cat about his food. There are two dogs and an elderly cat in his foster home. He interacts with the dogs, but he is not allowed to interact with the cat, due to her age and illness. For more information, please call the Bedford Humane Society at 540-586-6100, or go to www.bhsva.org/adoptions-home.htm to fill out an adoption application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rocky, a Bedford Domestic Longhair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Bedford, or seeking a Domestic Longhair kitten from a breeder in Bedford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bedford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bedford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bedford paves the way for another one to be saved.
