Please submit an application AND do NOT also contact the shelter. You will be contacting both the adoption coordinator and the marketing director, who do not see each other's emails. This causes confusion.
On top of being absolutely gorgeous, GRACE is a one of a kind gentle soul. She loves nothing more than to be right next you with her head in your lap getting a pet on the head. She truly would be content in that position all day. Since the moment she arrived at her foster home, GRACE has been potty trained. She picked right up on the doggy door and has never had an accident inside. GRACE is calm and always a pleasure to be around. Her kind eyes and happy soul make everyone who meets her smile. This special girl has also never chewed on anything that doesn't belong to her.
GRACE shares her foster home with 2 other large dogs. They get along fabulously, She has done well with every dog she has met after proper introductions. She doesn't live with cats but we have introduced her to kitties. She totally ignores them. Because of her incredibly gentle demeanor, GRACE is the best possible large dog for a family with young children. She is a quiet and mannerly car passenger and doesn't pull when walking on the leash. She is 2.5 years old and ready to be a loyal lifetime companion for her lucky forever family.
GRACE is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.
Her $450 adoption fee includes her interstate health certificate and transport to the Midwest.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).
Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.
Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
