Carbon is a wonderful dog ready for adventure. He is about 2 ½ years old and weighs around 40 lbs. He is medium energy, but very athletic.  He needs daily exercise and a home with a yard so he can run, play and just enjoy being outdoors. He has gorgeous blue/brown eyes! His previous owner had a DNA test done and reported that Carbon is a Husky, Australian Cattle Dog and Terrier mix. Carbon is very friendly and loving; he gets along well with humans and dogs. He previously lived with a cat, was respectful around horses, but he has a high prey drive and will chase squirrels and bunnies. Carbon has been in several homes and has gone through the Kit Carson inmate dog training program.  He is very smart! Carbon knows sit, lay down, up, paw, roll over, go to bed (kennel) and stay. Carbon isn’t really food motivated, but he loves attention and affection. He has done well around kids, very gentle. He loves to snuggle and thinks of himself as a lap dog. Carbon is very loyal and attentive; he does well on and off leash. He enjoys walks, hiking, running, biking and backpacking. He does fine riding in the car, mostly sleeps. He has some separation anxiety, he has caused property damage in the past, but has done well with kennel/crate training. He is looking for an active home with another dog so he doesn’t have to be all alone. He would love some human companions that spend a lot of time at home so he doesn’t have to spend more than 4 hours/day in his kennel. Carbon seems to prefer female dogs; he can get competitive with dominant males. He likes playing with toys. Carbon is a great dog ready for his forever home!
