My name is Sylvester, and I am a super-sweet, dapper-looking black and white domestic medium hair/Maine Coon mix boy who was born in October 2014. Suffering succotash, I was named after the three-time Academy Award-winning tuxedo Puddy Cat who starred with Tweety Bird in the cartoons in the '50's.
I have the typical Maine Coon mix's big fluff of a tail and tufted ears/ paw pads. Maine Coon mixes are known for their gentle, loving, calm dispositions and intelligence, and I'm no exception. We often make soft little chirping noises as we go about our day. We're delightful companions who are loving, loyal, and very patient with gentle children. Sometimes we pick up food with our front paws.
Are you surprised that a Maine Coon mix can be a tuxedo? Well, watch the attached You Tube Animal Planet video (or Google "Cats 101 Maine Coon") and find out that we come in all colors from white to black with tabby in between! You'll want to meet me right away!
I started out not so lucky. I was alone and on the streets when I was trapped in a TNR program. I'm not sure how that happened because I am anything BUT a feral. I ended up at a shelter for a short bit, but it was the best thing that could have happened to me because my foster mom saw how handsome I am and took me home with her.
I love my foster home because it's a safe haven, which means that my dumpster-diving days are over. Plus I get along great with the other cats and dogs as well as humans in my foster home, so I would fit into a lot of family situations.
However, I'd really like a lifetime home of my very own, and I think I deserve it after the hardscrabble beginnings that I've endured. I have so much love to give that special someone who falls in love with my big fluffy self. Gee, it would be great if that someone were you!
