Say howdy to Fred, a friendly 1-year-old, 40 pound hound mix with a handsome tricolor coat and floppy ears. He'd be right at home sitting with you on the front porch, joining you for walks and hikes, or participating in dog sports such as agility or scent work. Fred was running as a stray when picked up by a good Samaritan who feared he would be hit by a car. Unclaimed by an owner, Fred is now in our adoption program and is looking forward to having a home of his own. He's a high-energy boy who needs plenty of daily exercise and a person who can continue his training. He is good with other dogs, but is interested in chasing cats

About Animal Friends Rescue Project

About Our Rescue Group...

AFRP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding good permanent homes for stray, abandoned, and abused companion animals. We are also dedicated to ending the companion animal overpopulation problem through focussed spay/neuter programs.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Animal Friends Rescue Project has a main adoption center and many satellite adoption sites. Our Main Adoption Center is located at 560 Lighthouse Ave in Pacific Grove. We are open Tuesday through Saturday 12-5. Adoptable cats are always on site. We also bring 5-10 adoptable dogs to the center from shelters or their foster homes on a daily basis. If you are interested in meeting a specific dog from our website, please call 333-0722 or email info@animalfriendsrescue.org. Check our website for a complete listing of our satellite adoption sites, dates of our adoption days, and dogs and cats available for adoption (www.animalfriendsrescue.org).

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption fee for a cat is $150 which includes their spay/neuter, vaccines, microchipping, and FIV/FeLV testing. The adoption fee is $200-$300. The adoption fee helps to cover the cost of the care the animal has received, including spay/neuter, vaccines, microchipping, deworming, and flea treatment.

All potential adopters complete an application and are screened using a standardized series of questions by a trained adoption counselor. If the application and screening are satisfactory, a qualified adopter can complete a contract, pay the adoption fee and take the animal home.
