Miss Mary is a beautiful all black feline girl who is about 11 months old. She is pretty suspicious of humans. She will watch you carefully, she will take treats from you, and she might just let you pet her. Mary has been with Kingdom Animal Shelter for about 6 months. Though she isn't too sure about humans, she loves kittens and is absolutely ecstatic when she sees new kittens come in. She has made friends with several over the past months, only to watch them taken away to their new homes. She watches them go, she cries out to them as they leave. Mary has become friends with Lola. Mary and Lola play and play and chase each other around the cat walk. They wrestle, they hug each other. And when they are in their adjoining condos after having been out and playing, they lie right up against the nearest side and reach through the wires and touch each other...saying Hi, I am here, I love you, you are my friend. So....we have decided that Lola and Mary need to go home together. We don't want Mary to lose another kitten friend. And we want Lola to have her special playmate. It will take a special person to adopt Lola and Mary, someone who will have patience with Mary as she gains confidence towards humans. Who knows? Maybe Lola will be able to help Mary trust humans.

About Kingdom Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

We are a non-profit, all volunteer, no-kill shelter for cats.We provide a loving, safe, healthy home for the cats while they are waiting for their forever home. They are up to date on vaccines and have been dewormed and defleaed and spayed/neutered if that is age appropriate. We also tend carefully to any medical conditions. We do not euthanize to make room for other more desireable cats or because a cat has been with us "too long". We are truly "no kill"...i.e. we do not send cats out to be euthanized.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our adoption hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 4-6 p.m. Thursdays, 3:30-5:30, and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday noon to 3. During the summer we are sometimes closed on a weekend day. Check our website for those days.

Our Adoption Process...

Spayed and neutered cats are $95. Unspayed or unneutered kittens are $145 which includes a voucher of $50 to local vets for spaying or neutering (Danville Animal Hospital, Western Ave. Vet Clinic, and St. Johnsbury Animal Hospital).
An applicant must be approved through personal meeting, viewing interaction with the cat, 2 personal references, 2 vet references, and a landlord approval if the applicant is renting. We do not do same day adoptions, but rather take several days to be sure that the home will be safe and loving and responsible.
