My name is Dakota and this is my story. When my sister, brother and I were found, we were all alone. We didn’t know what a human was and we were all very scared, especially me and my sister. My brother kind of watched out for me and my sister, because we just didn’t want anything to do with humans and didn’t trust them. My human told me all of the time that I was a good kitty, she petted me A LOT, and told me everything would be okay. She taught me how to play with toys, especially those string toys, and she was right, because I came around after she spent many hours with me. I realized that it was okay and I eventually learned to trust her. I always have this look on my face that makes me look like I am either mad or up to no good. Don’t worry though, because I am not really mad, it’s just how I look. I prefer to say it’s kind of mystic looking!! My human named me Dakota, because she said it meant "friend" and she was determined that I would be her friend. Well, we are friends and I know I can be a friend to someone else, too. If you decide to make your home my furever home, just remember that I will be scared considering everything I have been through. I ask that you give me time to acclimate myself to my new environment, because after all, my human kept me for a long until she knew I was ready to find my furever home. I know how to sit still to have my nails clipped, I am litter box trained, I am about 2 ½ months old, and I like canned Friskies and Kitten Chow. If I don’t eat the canned food, just give me some of those special treats my human gave me called Friskies Party Mix and I will be just fine!! If I don’t sit on your lap or you can’t hold me very much, please don’t think it’s because I don’t like you, I will need time to figure out that it will be okay in my new home. I do like to be petted and talked to; and I will purr. I also like to rub my body on your legs and play at your feet with my lil mouse. My human says I will find the purrfect home, but she recommends the home have older aged children. I have been around my human’s dogs and they are okay, but they sure do make a lot of noise and sometimes that makes me nervous. If I am the kitty you are looking for, will you be my furever home?!

About The Bella Foundation

About Our Rescue Group...

Every year thousands of animals are euthanized or sent home to die because the people who love them cannot afford the cost of veterinary care. Stray and abandoned animals have even fewer options when they are brought into a clinic or veterinary office with no owner to pay for their care.

At The Bella Foundation, we believe that every animal should receive the best possible care regardless of the owner's ability to pay. When an owner brings an animal into a clinic for care and cannot afford the cost, the attending veterinarian can contact The Bella Foundation for assistance. If assistance is given, the owner must agree to volunteer at least 8 hours of their time at a local animal shelter. Stray or abandoned animals are cared for with no stipulation attached.

The Bella Foundation takes the placement of animals in homes very seriously and our goal is to do everything possible to match the right animal with the right animal. Our adoption application can be found on our website.
