Meet Ahina!!

This little girl came to Surfcat after being rescued from a feral colony. Due to VCAS overcrowding, we took this beautiful baby in with her brother Ula Kai!!

Ahina means "gray" in Hawaiian and she is a beautiful gray/black tabby! After her vet check it was brought to our attention that Ahina has a birth defect. Her little ribs do not go all of the way to her sternum therefore lacking ther much needed bone protection of her right lung! But that hasn't stopped her from her very active play schedule in the Surfcat kitten room!

Ahina loves to play and jump with her kitten roomates. She is still a little shy around new people so it will take a little time for her to trust you...nothing that yummy food and some lovin' won't fix!

As with all of our Surfcats, Ahina will need to be an indoor cat. Due to her condition she would be suited best for a home with no small children or very energetic dogs. Her new family will need to be overly aware as she grows larger making sure that she is developing normally.

Ahina will require her spay be done by a specialist and we are raising $1300.00 to do that! If you would like to help Click Here to donate!

If you are interested in adopting Ahina, please fill out this Adoption Application and email it to info@surfcatcafe.org. Then call to schedule a one on one meet 'n greet with Ahina!!

About Surfcat Cafe & Adoptions

About Our Rescue Group...

Surfcat Café & Adoptions in Ventura, California, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit enterprise that will provide sanctuary for and connect adoptable shelter cats with people and potential new homes. Our goal is for Surfcat Café & Adoptions to become, to the greater Ventura County community, a gathering place offering coffee, baked goods, and gift items. The business focus of Surfcat Café & Adoptions will be to draw people in to enjoy time with adoptable cats while relaxing in a comfortable and inviting setting. Surfcat Café & Adoptions will be working in cooperation with Ventura County Animal Services to help keep Ventura County a “no kill” community. Currently Surfcat is a foster based cat rescue dedicated to educating the community about cat care, and responsible animal stewardship. Our next step will be to open our Cat Zone along with our surf themed thrift store DaKine Finds. In the future there will be story hours for children, facilities for hosting small gatherings, and our vision even includes Cat Mat Yoga, Movie Night, and an Open Mic Night for singers, songwriters, and poets! Follow our progress on Facebook and Instagram.

Come Meet Our Pets...

You can meet our Surfcats by contacting us via email for a one-on-one meet 'n greet anytime. Please check out our event calendar on our website for adoption events.

Our Adoption Process...

So you've fallen in love right? What do I do next?
Potential adopters will fill out an adoption application through our website and agree to a home check before they are considered as an adopter.
We ask for a donation fee of $125.00 per cat. All cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated (age appropriate) dewormed and behavior screened. We make the best human/cat match possible. We ask that Surfcats be kept indoors only as they are not suited for unsupervised outdoor living.
