About Surfcat Cafe & Adoptions

About Our Rescue Group...

Surfcat Café & Adoptions in Ventura, California, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit enterprise that will provide sanctuary for and connect adoptable shelter cats with people and potential new homes. To this end Surfcat Café & Adoptions will become, to the greater Ventura County community, a gathering place offering coffee, baked goods, and gift items. The business focus of Surfcat Café & Adoptions will be to draw people in to enjoy time with adoptable cats while relaxing in a comfortable and inviting setting. Surfcat Café & Adoptions will be working in cooperation with Ventura County Animal Services to help keep Ventura County a “no kill” community. Surfcat Café & Adoptions will be more than a cat café. Surfcat will also be dedicated to educating the community about cat care, and responsible animal stewardship. There will be story hours for children, facilities for hosting small gatherings, and our vision even includes Cat Mat Yoga, Movie Night, and an Open Mic Night for singers, songwriters, and poets!

Come Meet Our Pets...

You can meet our Surfcats by contacting us via email for a one-on-one meet 'n greet anytime. We do adoption events at Pet Food Express Oxnard on the first 3 Saturdays of each month and Ventura Pet Barn the last weekend of every month. Please check out our event calendar on our website for additional adoption events in the future.

Our Adoption Process...

We ask for a donation fee of 125.00 per cat. All cats are behavior screened and we make the best human/cat match possible. We ask that Surfcats be kept indoors only as they are not suited for unsupervised outdoor living. Potential adopters will fill out an adoption application and agree to a home check before they are considered as an adoptor.
