Apollo's Story...
Meet Apollo...

This big beautiful boy spent six months in a shelter cage before being rescued by Surfcat. We thought we were going to have our work cut out for us but we were in for a pleasant surprise!! He just sauntered right into the sanctuary...said hello to the other residents and took his place as a Surfcat!! Apollo is quite a talker telling you all about his day when you walk in. He has amazing tabby markings on his strawberry blond coat and he's oh so soft!

Apollo is not phased by the loud barking of our canine family members. I know that he will make a great family companion to whoever's heart he steals.

Apollo is FIV+ so will need to be indoors only....and he is totally fine with that too! As a former street cat, he is now loving the housecat life.

Apollo is neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated and de-wormed. Please call for a one-on-one meet 'n greet or find him at our adoptions. Please check our event calendar for details.

Please fill out this Adoption Application and return it to us if you are interested in meeting the furry new love of your life.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Apollo, a Oxnard Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Oxnard, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Oxnard.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oxnard already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oxnard breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oxnard paves the way for another one to be saved.
