peanut's Story...

Peanut is cute and quiet and tiny little Terrier mix. She was abandoned on a doorstep and would hide and cower when she first came to her foster's home. After a month, she now comes when she is called and likes to be cuddled; though she still is a bit wary and afraid at times. Peanut is around a year and a half and weighs under 7 pounds. Peanut gets along with other dogs, is crate trained and uses the doggie door. She will need a special patient person to draw her out and earn her trust. If you are that person, your reward will be a sweet little lapdog that will give you love and gratitude in return! If you would like to make Peanut part of your family, please fill out an application online at and include her name at the top.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

peanut, a Tijeras Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in Tijeras, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in Tijeras.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tijeras already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tijeras breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tijeras paves the way for another one to be saved.
