Facts about Mermaid

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Brown Tabby
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Short
Mermaid is a 2-3 year old spayed female domestic shorthair. Mermaid is a special needs girl. She came to us after being found as a stray, we were not sure she was going to make it. She has come a long way, but still has some recovery time until she is completely healthy. Mermaid is heartworm positive, which is rare to find in cats. She will require medication once monthly for the next year or so before she will test negative. Mermaid has finally shown us her sweet, playful personality which proves she is ALMOST there! We would love to find her a home to call hers, and to continue to heal in peace.

About Aardvark Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Aardvark Animal Rescue is a non-profit rescue organization that is based out of Aardvark Animal Hospital in Downington, Pennsylvania. Our mission is to rescue animals in need of medical attention and TLC that they otherwise might not recieve in a crowded animal shelter. We treat and work with these animals to give them a second chance at a happy and healthy life with their forever families. Our rescue is headed up by Dr. Corinne A. Thomas, VMD and managed with the help of our staff. We heavily depend on the work of our supporting staff as well as the help offered to us by our fantastic volunteers and amazing foster families

Our Adoption Process...

Our mission is to place all of our rescue animals are adopted out to "forever homes" in which we know they will recieve the care, love, and attention they deserve. Our adoption fees vary depending on species, age, and gender of the animal, but this fee covers the price of the animal's first year of several vaccines and their spay/neuter surgery at the age of six months, as well as the required pre-op bloodwork we send to the lab beforehand to ensure the animal will be safe under anesthesia.

If you see an animal on our page you would like to apply to adopt, you can download the adoption application, fill it out, and drop it off to the practice at your convenience so that our rescue managers can decide if that pet would be a good match for you.

Before you come to visit any of the animals listed, please give us a call to make sure they are not in a foster home. If you have any questions regarding any of our animals, please contact us at (610) 269-2226.
