Hi. I am Ares. Mom says that is the God of War and I am like a warrior because I love to explore. I was the first to discover how to get out of our kennel! (My mom wasn’t as excited as I thought she’d be.)
My fur mom was a Husky and dad was shepherd/elkhound cross. . I am black and white with brown ears and blue eyes. I love to wrestle and play tug with everyone and every THING! I use the doggie door all the time and like to be in the house with my mom and big brothers. I almost always do my business outside and sleep in an open kennel. I'm a leader with a calm, gentle energy that makes me seem more mature than the rest of my litter.

** Important information: Ares is part of a litter of 10 that require a special kind of adopter. Soon after coming into care, 2 of their litter mates began exhibiting signs of a condition called "Laryngeal Paralysis", a genetic condition and an unfortunately serious one. Ares has not displayed any symptoms of having inherited this condition, and our veterinarian tells us this gives us good reason to be hopeful that he never will. Research into LP shows that in its genetic form, it will present by 8 months of age if it is going to, however, and we at BEDR know that is something each potential adopter needs to know ahead of time in order to consider carefully whether it's something they can manage along with all the joys and frustrations of a new puppy in their lives. We know there are 8 special families out there that will open their homes and their hearts for these beautiful little souls while we all wait for the next few months to pass and confirm our optimism in their enjoying a healthy, happy life.

About Bright Eyes Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a registered charitable organization, located in Regina, SK, Canada dedicated to helping dogs that have fallen on hard times (homeless, abandoned and in some cases, surrendered). With the help of dedicated volunteer foster families, our dogs live as part of the family while they are in foster care right up until they move in with their new family. We strive to help with the over-population of pets by making sure each and every puppy*, adolescent and adult dog is spayed/neutered. (*Note: sterilization of puppies is the owner's responsibility and proof of sterilization must be shown at 6 months of age.)
