Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sweet Snickers Spigold was dropped off at a very small shelter when his elderly owner had to move to an assisted living center. Besides his records and AKC papers, his owner left him with high hopes that the shelter would be able to find him a family to love. DREAM stepped in and placed him in a foster home, to which he settled in very easily. He is heartworm negative, and when we had his teeth cleaned, he had no need for any extractions which is almost unheard of for a Dachshund that just turned 10! According to his AKC papers, he was born on 9/13/2006. He is a Cream and White Piebald, hence the last name Spigold, an apple variety described as "cream to white flesh, large and oblong!" Snickers is completely house trained, and he has a nice energy level, enjoys toys, being outside, going on short walks, but he also loves a long snooze on the couch or in his favorite dog bed. Snickers gets along well with other dogs, but he would do just fine as an only too. He would do best in a home without a lot of chaos and commotion, so a calmer laid back environment would suit him well. He's a good boy on car rides if you'd like to take him along, and he's not destructive if you leave him home. He is not crate trained and will bark and scratch at the door, as he doesn't like being enclosed in a small space. Overall Snickers is a happy, healthy lovable boy who would do best with a single owner since he tends to get protective of his person, especially at bedtime.
