Facts about Gili

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Gray, Blue Or Silver Tabby
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Short
DOB October 14, 2012.

Gili is a sweet and affectionate little cat. She purrs the instant you pet her, and loves to be scratched under her chin. She is very gentle and will roll around to have her belly rubbed. She will tolerate being picked up and held for a little bit, but will nicely let you know when it's time to be put down. Although not a lap cat at the moment, she has learned to come up and lay on the couch beside us and seems to love it. She naps on her back - it's the cutest thing! Gili has been really great with new people and will come and greet them at the door and wait for attention.

Gili loves to look out the window at the action outside. She is inquisitive and generally stays out of trouble. Gili loves to 'talk' when she wants some attention or when she carries around her favourite toy. It's so funny to watch her 'hunt' her pet mouse!

Gili is one of the fifty cats rescued from Quebec. Although her history is unknown, it is clear that she was a house-cat before ending up at the high-kill shelter as she loves attention from humans.

Her foster family shares: "Gili has been our first foster and we can't believe what a sweet and easy girl she's been. More than anything we want her to find a happy, loving, forever home that will love her with all their hearts.". Adopt affectionate Gili today!

About Toronto Cat Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Toronto Cat Rescue is a registered, no-kill charity run by volunteers.

Our mission is to rescue and find homes for abandoned, sick or injured cats from situations of abuse, neglect or imminent euthanasia.

Our vision is for Toronto to be a city in which no adoptable cat is killed and rescue organizations such as Toronto Cat Rescue are no longer needed.

Our registered charity number: 889-198-727-RR-0001

Our Adoption Process...

Decided on the cat or kitten you would like to adopt? Please call 416-538-8592, or email adopt@torontocatrescue.ca.

An adoption counsellor will return your call and give you more details about the cat you are interested in and ask some questions about your home to make sure the cat will be a "purr-fect" fit. We are happy to answer any questions you may have as well.

You will be supplied with the foster home address to have a meet and greet with your kitty. If both parties are happy, you can sign the TCR Contract of Adoption, pay the adoption fee and take your cat home with you in a safe carrying case.

Adoption fee is $175 per cat. This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. It includes 6 weeks of free pet insurance. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!

Note:

1. ALL senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopters choice, vs. our standard adoption fee of $175.

2. Our adoption fee for a bonded pair is $100 per cat, vs. $175 per cat.
