found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
ELLA is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm and tick disease tested negative and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 25 April 2016 and as of October 2016 weighed approximately 25 pounds. ELLA does have a docked tail.
ELLA originally came from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs generally have just 3 days to be saved before they are killed due to the thousands of stray dogs that sadly are in desperate need of life of the streets and ultimately a home of their own.
ELLA is currently with her foster family in Texas where she is enjoying life with several dogs of all sizes and also cats. She gets on great with all of the dogs and has not shown any interest in the cats. She is very affectionate and loves to cuddle with her foster-parents catching up on all the love and attention that she has missed out on in her early months in this world.
ELLA wals nicely on the least and is house-trained. She rides great in the car quickly settling down waiting until she gets to her destination.
ELLA is a young girl and so does have a lot of energy and will soon be wanting to chew on anything and everything. ELLA does get excited and s with all dogs going to new homes, ELLA will need basic and advanced obedience training. By the family working with her on this it will help to form a strong bond, lay down boundaries and expectations and allow her and her family to learn each others body language and personalities.
ELLA will benefit from a family that is experienced with German Shepherds or working breed dogs. A family that is active and will be able to provide her with both the mental and physical exercise she needs to grow and keep out of mischief. A family that will take her on road trips and adventures, letting her explore all the sights, smells and sounds the world has to offer.
Although German Shepherd puppies are very cute and very intelligent they are a lot of work when they are young and they don't get the stimulation they deserve they can get destructive through boredom. They have to respect their owners and be challenged mentally and physically.
We do not have cats at the rescue so we are unable to say how any of our dogs would react around cats.
We currently feed SPORTMIX Wholesomes Chicken Meal & Rice Formula, a 4* (a per www.dogfoodadvisor.com) GRAIN FREE food along with pro-bioitics and immune support supplements listed on the available dogs page!
ELLA is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $500. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed.
If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious girl a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements.
Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks.
ELLA is currently located with her foster family in Texas. Transport can be booked for states along the east coast. This is a cost of $175 and is in addition to the adoption fee.
