Elvis's Story...

(ADOPTION PENDING)  ELVIS is about 11 months old, 45 pounds, friendly, happy, good with dogs, cats, house trained, crate trained, loving and just a great boy. Yes, he is a border collie mix...but don't hold that against him. He is very smart, learns quickly, and you can almost 'see him think' as he figures things out.   He'd be a great companion for another dog, a jogging/hiking partner, a candidate for agility training or even possibly train him as a sports or working dog.  He needs a home that understands the border collie type behavior and can provide proper stimulation for him to be happy.  Please 'share' his listing with friends and let's find this great dog a home!

Elvis was evaluated by an Agility Trainer at 'Show Me The Biscuit'   and Here's what Cassy had to say:  Cassy Lamothe..I had a chance to work with Elvis at Show Me The Biscuit this morning. He would make an excellent sports dog, way more Border Collie then Spaniel work ethic. Elvis did the teeter on two tables, the tunnel, and the tippy board with no worries. He works for tugs and cookies, he switched back and forth with no problem.

If interested in adopting please complete a pre-adoption application which can be found on our website www.SaveOurStraysVT.org under the 'adoption info' section.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elvis, a Huntington Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Huntington, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Huntington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntington paves the way for another one to be saved.
