Surf is a happy-go-lucky 11-year-old, 71 pound Labrador. This guy is a LOVE! He greets you, and all he meets, with well-mannered excitement and big tail wags. Surf adores being petted all over and getting all of your attention; a typical, loving Lab. He'll whine softly, in the sweetest way, to let you know he would like more attention! He doesn't know he's a 'senior' dog and still has lots of energy to go on adventures with you. 'Surf is SUCH A GOOD BOY,' his foster mama says. 'I've never had a foster fall in so easy - he's such a love and would win anyones heart.' Surf is also fabulous with other dogs of all sizes, and he is happy to cuddle with the other Lab in his foster home. He especially enjoys playing with the puppy in his foster home. After a lot of puppy play, this sweet ol' boy might let you know he is tired with a gentle growl. Surf also loves playing with stuffed animal toys, and any chew toys, including bones. Surf also loves trips to the beach. He'll stick his head out the car window, tail wagging all the way there, or he will walk there very nicely on a leash. Surf would likely do best in a home without cats, as he thinks they're pretty fun to chase.Surf has had free roam of the house and yard while his foster mom is away, and he does just fine. Surf is housetrained and has no problem 90% of the time. He may have some age-related bowel control issues as he has had 'accidents' on occasion. Surf was picked up as a stray in need of medical attention. An abscessed tooth had created an open sore on his face and he had some unattended eye/ear/skin issues. He is feeling MUCH better now that he's had some medical attention, and he is getting healthier by the day. Surf has a mild heart murmur that doesn't slow him down and is common for his breed and age. He also has some age-related arthritis in his hips, but this golden boy knows you'll see past that to what an awesome dog he is! Surf has the BEST disposition. He is so so happy and appreciative - he is always SMILING and happy to just be with you. Surf is such a pleasure and he will be wonderful to have in the house! This great boy deserves a great forever family! Surf came to us from the Salinas Animal Shelter.
