ERNIE's Story...
My name is Ernie. Chances are, if you've been to the rescue you've probably heard me. I am very vocal and I HATE to be alone - especially when I can hear you all right outside the door! Once I'm with people, I'm just a love monster; I love to snuggle and sleep on anyone. I get so happy, sometimes I drool. I love people, but I'm not a huge fan of other cats; I've gotten a long with some cats here, but would do best as an only cat. I've never been around dogs.

I have IBS. My tummy gets easily upset, so I need to be on food that my tummy can handle. I also need to be on steroids for a bit because my intestines get inflamed and angry, so that helps calm things down. It's not a big deal, but it's just something to keep in mind. I do great here with everything, but I would excel in a home where I got more one-on-one attention. I hope my tummy doesn't keep you from considering me, because, and I know I'm biased, I'm an awesome cat.

If you are interested in meeting me, please come visit me at the NBAR Adoption Center located at 2502 Rochester Rd., Royal Oak MI. They are open from 4-7P Wed-Fri and 12-4P Sat-Sun.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

ERNIE, a Royal Oak Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Royal Oak, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Royal Oak.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Royal Oak already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Royal Oak breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Royal Oak paves the way for another one to be saved.
