Because she is still young, she has plenty of energy and would make a great running or hiking buddy. She loves meeting new people and thinks everyone is her friend. Roxie is learning the commands Sit, Down, and Wait and still needs some extra practice. She would be great with obedience training and seems very smart!
Roxie is very affectionate and absolutely loves to snuggle. Very happy-go-lucky, Roxie is always up for the next adventure and loves to tag along wherever you go! Roxy will be a wonderful addition to someone's family!
Roxie is sponsored by Karen C. and family, in honor of their wonderful pointer, Lexi.
If you are interested in meeting a dog, we require an adoption application. Visit http://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/adopt.html to apply. If a dog has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon.
If a dog has "NEEDS FOSTER" listed, they are still available for adoption. City Dogs Rescue is a foster based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. We focus on local adoptions in DC and the metro area of Maryland and Virginia. CDR has a thorough adoption process in order to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model).
Prior to arrival, all of our dogs are spayed/neutered (unless specified) and given shots for Rabies, Distemper DHPP, and Bordatella. They are tested for Heartworm, Lyme, Anaplasma, and Ehrlichia. They are dewormed at least twice and given a health check by the vet. Most dogs will have a house training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken or crate trained. Our adoption fee is $395 (including puppies) unless noted -- senior dogs are available for an adoption fee of $200.
We also update our Facebook page daily with new dogs.
