Koda is a sweet and mellow and VERY affectionate 4 yr old shar pei that was surrendered by his owner due to a divorce. Koda has been neutered and recently had entropion surgery.
He is good with other passive similar sized dogs and doesn't seem to care for in your face dogs. He so far hasn't shown much interest in playing with other dogs. We are unsure about cats.
He loves everyone he meets. Great with kids, men and women to include strangers. He was actually social enough to give the vet and vet techs kisses at his last appointment. He loves riding in the car and may have some new found skill as he can open up his own window (ok it may have been a one time event!) He does not love to be crated and would love to have a backyard and maybe eevn a pool, lol, as a loves the water and is housetrained using a doggie door.
11/22/16 update. Koda has had his entropion surgery, sutures removed and his eyes look fantastic. He seems to prefer dogs his size or bigger. With lots of patience his foster mom has taught him how awesome it is to have your own personal space and he loves his crate! He is dog door trained. His new home has to be committed to having lots of stuffed toys as this guy goes nowhere without a stuffed animal in his mouth! He loves his walks and would do much better in a home that would give this guy some daily exercise. (We think he has been watching too much Cesar-The Dog Whisperer) This guy loves his family more than your average shar pei! So be prepared for a boy that wants to be close and will follow you from room to room (yep that includes the bathroom)
Koda had an amazing Christmas! There isn't a dog that loves toys more than this guy! He spent the christmas weekend in a home with 8 other dogs and did great. We really think this guy would love a home with someone that is retired or works from home. He seems to get alot of comfort from other dogs even though he doesn't necessarily want to play. He doesn't seem to mind sharing his toys, food or treats with other dogs. If you are looking to adopt AWESOMENESS it will come in a Koda package!
Koda is fostering in Phoenix AZ and is looking for a FOREVER family not one that leaves them in a shelter when life changes occur :( Available at www.peipeople.com
