Hi my name is Pocahontas. I am 8 year old beagle-basset mix. I am healthy except for a dry eye condition that I'll need to use drops to keep them moist.
I love to be outside with my nose to the ground and chirp. I was raised to be a huntress and momma. I guess they got tired of me or I got too old and they let me go. I was found as a stray by a shelter which in return contacted Midwest BREW to help me find a forever home where I can be pampered the rest of my many happy years.
I ride well in a car. I like to wrestle with my foster siblings. I sleep well in my bed and crate. I walk well on a leash until my nose gets a whiff of a critter then I may take you for a walk.
I really would like a fenced yard. But if not that I get to go in several walks and maybe a dog park to burn some energy. I do well with other dogs and cats and have been around my foster mom’s granddaughter and do just fine.
I am mostly potty trained just have occasional accidents but I am outside a lot.
So, if you're ready for a darling senior who likes to talk and to please you. Ask for me, Pocahontas. I really would love a loving forever home.

About Midwest Beagle Rescue, Education and Welfare - Western PA

About Our Rescue Group...

Midwest Beagle Rescue, Education and Welfare, Inc is a 501(c)3 non profit, all-volunteer organization located in the Midwest, funded by donations and dedicated to rescuing beagles from high-kill shelters. Our foster homes provide loving temporary care until we are able to find them well matched, carefully screened forever homes. By working with local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities we are able to give proper medical care to the beagles in our program. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition. We adopt beagles to families within Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, western Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and have also placed beagles into loving homes in Minnesota, Iowa, and Missouri.
