We found  Buddy  at the Santa Rosa County Animal Shelter (Milton, FL) in October 2016. He is a Rottweiler/GSD mix.  Buddy  , along with his brother, were both brought into the shelter by their owner who could no longer care for the dogs. There was no information left on either of the dogs so SSRR got Buddy all his shots, nails trimmed (and cauterized because they were very neglected) and neutered.

Buddy  is approximately 2 years and 6 mos old. He is a sweet and loveable dog! He is good with other dogs as well as kids. He loves to play! He also loves to chew so toys and bones would be great!! He also loves to give snuggles and kisses! The shelter, as well as his foster mom, have cat tested him and he seems to show no interest at all in cats. He does love to chase rabbits and armadillos though! He walks well on a leash but has some more work to do in that area. He did not have any manners, other than being housebroken, when we got him but within a week he  learned sit, down and stay! He's also crate trained. He's a very smart boy!

Buddy  is a bit shy and doesn't trust people right away so he will need some TLC. It's taken some time but he's learning to trust us now. He has been neutered, UTD on all shots and is on HW and flea/tick prevention. He came to us underweight but he's filled out nicely and he is a healthy boy! Hes about 60lbs now. He's very energetic and loves to play! We have 2 other dogs and he gets along with them great! They play a lot! He also loves our 8 year old daughter to pieces and he's become quite protective of her. He would make a lovely addition to any home looking for a friendly furry pup that just wants to snuggle!

About Southern States Rescued Rottweilers

About Our Rescue Group...

Southern States Rescued Rottweilers, Inc. is dedicated to saving the lives of Rottweilers throughout Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and the Virginia. We could not fulfill that mission without the efforts of our hard working volunteers.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Even though some of our dogs may be listed in White Hall, AR they are not necessarily fostered there. Please contact us directly at for any information on one of our Available Rottweilers.

Our Adoption Process...

We try and match up dogs with the best possible living environment for everyone involved. Some dogs need to be in homes with no children, no cats and/or other dogs - and some dogs LOVE children, cats, and/or other dogs! We want to make sure that everyone in the family is happy! Adoption requires that an application be completed and a home visit performed. Three (3) personal references and a vet reference are required - these will be checked! If approved, a tax-deductible donation to Southern States Rescued Rottweilers is required upon taking possession of the dog. We also require that a contract be signed - that states, among other things, that if you are unhappy with your dog that you will return him/her to us, that you will provide needed veterinary care, that you will provide adequate food, etc.
