10/24/2016:

This is our girl Abby! She is an approximately 2 year old German Shepherd. Abby weighs right at 60 lbs. She is now a healthy weight, she was quite thin when she showed up. One of our excellent foster moms was mowing her yard when the mail lady showed up saying she found her and asked us to help her.

Abby was very timid, but sensed that Carol was a good person and jumped on the lawn mower with her. Abby has been vaccinated, wormed, spayed and microchipped. Sadly she was heartworm positive, however she has been successfully treated and she is doing awesome! Her rescuer and foster mom says she is just a great dog. Housebroken and crate trained, in fact puts herself in her crate to nap!

She is peaceful, enjoys finding a comfy spot to stay out of the way, but able to see what Carol is doing. She lives in a home with another large dog and two little Dachsunds. She favors the little dogs and is sweet to them.

While Abby is a bit reserved at first meeting, she warms up quickly. The gal who took her photos was a friend within 10 minutes. She just needs a bit of patience. Also Abby is picking up some basic commands and walks beautifully on a leash. She deserves a wonderful life, could that be in your home?.
