Hello World!

Karma, that's me. Do you like my picture? The volunteer said it could've been a lot better if I'd stayed still for just a couple of seconds. I was just so glad to see a human playmate that I completely lost control of my tail. When that happens, it gets to wagging so fast that the rest of me sort of follows along. Happiness! That's my normal state of being.

I'm about 55 pounds of pure love and happiness; never met a human I didn't like. I can be sassy with other dogs and would do best in a home where I don’t have to compete for love. Cats? Well, not so much. The kennel staff here where I am staying, temporarily I hope, say that my body type resembles a sausage! I'm pretty sure that I'm mostly Boxer maybe with some hound mixed in. Hard to know since I've been an orphan most of my life.

I hope the kennel staff won't take offense when I tell you how much I want out of this place. They all love me, and say good things like, “I can't believe Karma hasn't been adopted yet, she's so sweet.” I love them back but it gets lonely here at night and I need a companion. I need to have a playmate and I need long walks with my human. If you need a companion who is submissive, loving, loyal, good with kids and just darn cute, well, I'm your pup!

About Corridor Rescue Inc. - Pittsburgh Transports

About Our Rescue Group...

Corridor Rescue Inc. is an all breed 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable animal rescue organization on a mission. A mission of mercy, rescue and awareness. A mission to save lives and correct an injustice to animals who have been thrown away and left, often times injured and starving, to fend for themselves in the Hwy 59 and Little York area of Houston - apparently the dividing line for the county and city Animal Control. Its about a mile strip of road dubbed the "Corridor of Cruelty". Veer off to the left or right along any point and see the same everywhere - abandoned and starving dogs, in pain and suffering. Here, trash and animals are discarded without thought on a regular basis. We're not talking about a handful of animals, but hundreds of physically and emotionally damaged animals in the fight of their lives to simply survive another day.

Started by one person, Corridor Rescue has grown its team of volunteers, from all walks of life, united in an effort to help this community of orphaned animals in desperate need of help. We work to rescue hard to capture dogs and cats; to rescue and rehabilitate diseased and injured dogs; to facilitate the rescue of animals mainly from the Corridor of Cruelty but also from other areas of Houston; to educate about spay/neuter and animal cruelty laws.

Success happens everyday yet we know that our fight is far from over

Our Adoption Process...

We require all potential adopters to complete our pre-adoption application. Please contact with inquiries, or visit our website to fill out our online adoption application -

After review of your application, a rescue volunteer will contact you. We will check veterinary references on all current pets or any that you have had in the past 3 years. We conduct a home visit by appointment to meet family members, other pets, and to evaluate home safety conditions. If we feel the potential adoption is a good match for the family and the pet, then we proceed with placing the animal on a "trial adoption". We want to be sure that your new pet is right for you!
