Madeleine's Story...
Look at that face? How could you not want to meet this beauty?

Madeleine was named after one of the Backstreet Boys songs. Some of the lyrics of the song, “Hold on and you’ll know help is on its way’, fit her life perfectly. She found Friends for Life just in time to get help with her 5 beautiful little boy kittens (all named after the Backstreet Boys, of course). She was a fabulous mom, finding a safe spot for her babies under her foster’s bed. In order to get some snuggles herself, she would come out and find a lap every hour or so. All of Madeleine’s kittens have been adopted now and she is ready to ‘Rise up and Live again’, as the song also says. As soon as you walk into a room and sit down, you are likely to have Madeleine on your lap. She gazes at you and blinks really softly like the two of you are having a conversation.

Madeleine’s ready to live the sweet life of indoor catnaps where the sun gazes in, treats for just being cute, lots of love and affection and just the joy of being happy and safe with a family to call her own!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Madeleine, a Houston Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Houston, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
