Kandi is a 6 year old spayed yellow female Lab who weighs 68 pounds. Kandi is a lovable, friendly, and caring girl. She is crate trained and housetrained. She knows her commands verbally and with hand signals. She has been in training at the Happy Hounds Prison Program and has learned many commands. If she gets on a bed or couch and you tell her "off," she will get down. She's wonderful with people. She gets along well with other dogs, but she doesn't like it when other dogs come running or bouncing towards her. She's looking for someone who will continue practicing what she has learned in a calm, family setting. She is a loving dog and would love to be the center of someone's universe because Kandi really loves the humans! Kandi does not really play with toys all that much but does have a fondness for the Kong. She likes to carry it around. Kandi is super gentle and sweet and very laid back. Kandi is good with other dogs but has a prey drive and sometimes is too interested in small dogs and will bark when walking on a leash. Due to her prey drive, we're going to say no cats. Owner surrender to shelter due to family member's allergies. She is approved for kids 10+. More info soon!

Update: Kandi is a moderate energy beautiful girl. She has great inside manners and does not counter surf or beg. She sleeps beautifully through the night and doesn't get on furniture. Kandi likes to hang out with her people wherever they are in the house. She loves to look out the windows or storm door probably because she loves the outside!! Kandi gets very excited when she realizes that it is time to go outside and will carry her "kitty" or "bear" around in anticipation. Kandi is a good walker and walks best on a harness. She has a strong prey drive and will need to be redirected when she sees a fox, squirrel, or small dog on walks. She has some interest in bones and balls and will play by herself by throwing them in the air. She is very smart and knows "wait," "come," "sit," "down," "paw," "speak" for a treat, "give," "roll over." She has had full house privileges for a few hours and she was fine. Her allergies are being managed by daily allergy medicine and grain free chicken and turkey dog food.

Update: Kandi loves to cuddle and be around her people. She likes to explore the yard or settle down with a kong or nap in front of the fireplace. She is easy to have around and is a medium energy gal. She will adjust to whatever you feel like doing, whether it's going for a walk or watching TV on the couch. If you want a true companion, Kandi is your girl.

Update: Kandi is a happy girl who will do best in a home with limited steps. She loves her people.
