Hi, my name is Napoleon Bonaparte and I am a Chocolate Lab. A very handsome one I might say :) I came to Michigan from Ohio, where life was very hard. When I got here they told my Foster Mom that I had heartworm and I started on my treatment to get rid of them. What she did not know was that I had been shot, not only from a regular gun but also got some buck shot along with it. The vet told "Mom" that the entrance wounds had healed over but a very large abscess had formed that bothered me alot as I was always licking at my chest up by my front leg. Well to make a long story short, I licked it enough that it opened up and drained all kinds of nasty stuff. Well my "Mom" is a retired ER/ICU nurse and she took me straight in to the vet in the morning, this transpired about 8:30pm. I am now the proud owner of 2 drains that come out in a couple of days and some fancy looking stitches. When my fur grows back you will never know what happened :-)
I am house trained, crate trained, eat like a wee pig, and like looking out the picture window in the living room and keeping track of all the squirrels, etc. I like all people, big and small. I would love to play with my new dog friends but I guess I have to wait until my drain tubes are out :( But I just love checking out the back yard with all of the new snow, which is just a ball sticking my nose in. Iam super friendly and can't wait to meet everyone who comes to the Pet Smart Adoption event that my "Mom" does on Saturday's. As the new adoption events will start right after the 1st of the year, I will be all healed up and in attendance. So keep an eye out for the 1st adoption event on Saturday's @ the Pet Smart in West Bloomfield, the address is 7260 Orchard Lake Road West Bloomfield. They run from Noon to 3pm.
See you there,
Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information. Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
