Handsome Beau is very attentive and affectionate to all members of his foster family, including 5 children ranging in age from 8 years old through teenager!  Beau *loves* kids, and no lap is too small for him to try & fit on (he doesn't realize his size, and thinks he is a lap dog)!

Beau loves to be petted and will ask for attention by putting his paw on you or sitting super close. He loves to follow his people, and be wherever they are. He cuddles very close on your lap, and gives gentle face kisses; or will lay at your feet.  Beau is estimated to be 4 years old, and has most basic commands down-- but he is certainly smart enough to learn more tricks!

Beau is more comfortable around women, but he has started to sit on his foster dad's lap too. He came into rescue with his brother, but they did not seem to enjoy being with each other as playmates or best buds. Beau would prefer not to have to compete for attention with any other animals and wants to share all his love with his new human family.

Beau arrived with STAR already knowing how to crate on command, and to sit for a treat or before a meal.  He walks great on a leash and is delighted with a long walk or a short one, as long as he is with his human.  Whoever takes him for a walk is the new leader, and Beau quickly shows his loyalty and attentiveness on a leash. Off-leash in a fenced area, he is a bit cautious and leery of new people at first.  Beau has a moderate energy level, and though he does enjoy walking, he is not so energetic that he *needs* a ton of exercise to feel calm.  Beau has a pretty laid back demeanor -- he hasn't shown much interest in toys or playing fetch, but he does do a little hopping dance when he is excited to see someone!  He is housetrained and takes treats very gently.  He rides well in the car and enjoys watching the world go by on a drive.  Beau will make a wonderful family member and a loyal companion for a lucky family!

Meet Beau who is not only a beauty but very well trained and excellent on a leash. Beau would prefer to be the only animal in the home. He is crate trained, house broken and very sweet once he gets to know you. He is leerier of new people and will also bark/ back off strangers. beau will need to be the only animal in the home. He is as cuddly and loving as they come once he knows you but he will need a family who is willing to give him some time and understand or has had dogs before. He is a herding breed so he is very smart but also in need of a more experienced family. He lives with a family of children ranging from 8-16 and does well with them. He prefers women first but does fine with the men in his foster home, new men he is a little leerier of along with all new people. Once he meets you and goes for a leash walk he will show you his attentiveness, willingness to please, loyalty and affection.

AGE DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, most of the orphaned animals that come into our rescue looking for homes don’t bring birth certificates. Sometimes we know our pets’ ages. Sometimes we don’t. So we make our best guess based on the condition of their teeth and the veterinarians best guess.  BREED DISCLAIMER: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label . Microchips: For the safety of our dogs and peace of mind of our fosters and adopters, STAR microchips all dogs prior to adoption with Petlink Microchips. Please understand that all dogs MUST still wear a collar with ID tags (which include your current information) AT ALL TIMES. Please remember, our foster dogs are extremely important to us-- we will always take any of our dogs back, if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. Never surrender him/her to a shelter!
