My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mellie is a tiny cat (6 lbs.) who is very shy. I think she would be an ideal companion for someone with a smaller home without other pets. She tends to keep to herself with other pets or people around, but I have found she comes out of her shell quickly when I am one-on-one with her. As with Pip, my friend rescued her as a kitten, partly out of concern that no one would adopt her because of her medical condition. Mellie has hyperthyroidism which requires her to get medication daily, but I have found it very easy to administer in her food. She has always been an indoor kitty, and is charming and can be talkative once she becomes comfortable with you

Pip and Mellie are senior cats who recently lost their human companion to cancer. They were lovingly raised by someone who cared for them very much. I feel it is very important to my friend’s memory that I find a good home for them. I would keep them myself, but I already have a cat who is very territorial and aggressive. Pip and Mellie are elderly and extremely mellow, and could use a less stressful environment than I am able to give them.
