Thank you for your interest in our adoptable animals.  If you would like more information about this pet, see the Shelter information below.   We would love to help you rescue a perfect pet!

Elvira is a very pretty, very thin, pit bull mommy that I can only imagine will blossom into a gorgeous lady with a little love and a whole lot of groceries. Elvira came to us as a 49 pound stray. She is probably less than 5 years old and has had puppies. She's darling little lady that loves a kind touch and is pretty good on the leash. She showed no adverse reaction to the dogs she met while out for photos. Elvira enjoyed playing fetch! She knows the sit command and seems to understand to potty outside. She has the most adorable ears and eyes that will touch your soul to the core when she gazes at you. Elvira needs some love. She needs a family that will appreciate her for the gentle family member that she so wants to be. She needs a couch to snuggle on and a family to share snacks with. She's not had it easy up until this point so it's now our turn to show her that humans come with all sorts of good things! Let's show this girl that our hands are meant for rubbing and handing out treats and our voices are only used to convey happiness, love and warmth. She's worth it. If you think you have the ability to shower this little lady with kindness for the rest of her life then please stop by Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center, 341 S Birdneck Road and ask to meet Elvira. She's currently in the back waiting for a spot on the adoption floor so just ask for her by name and/or ID# 1610-1792 and we will be more than happy to bring her out to meet you and the family! Thank you for considering adoption!
