Meet Monarch! Monarch is a shy young lady who's been with us for the last 2 months and she's finally ready to find her forever home! She came to us with her 2 kittens and another pregnant young cat who was possibly her sister. All were semi-feral and had been living outdoors fending for themselves. After Monarch's kittens were weaned, she spent some time in foster care getting used to being around people and touch. She's sure made some great progress and does enjoy pets and (especially!) treats from people she knows. Monarch would do well in a home with another friendly cat. While she still does have a way to go to become a friendly, comfortable and affectionate kitty, we think she has it in her to become someone's best friend. All this pretty lady needs is time and understanding....and a real home!

About Our Shelter...

See our website at www.spca.bc.ca/squamish for all of our current adoption prices, hours of operation, etc.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
