Facts about Chella

  • Breed: Labrador Retriever
  • Color: Unknown
  • Age: Puppy
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 10733769

Chella is retriever mix, 5 months old, and weighs a little over 15 pounds. Her adult size potential is likely around 45 lbs.

We saw this little doll on her very last day at the shelter and got her to a great foster home. She is settling in and starting to trust. She is very friendly, but very timid and scared.  It appears that she has had very little, if any, interaction with humans or training. We're working mostly on building up her trust and self-confidence and after a few days with the foster, she is starting to warm up and look for interaction. That's one of the great rewards of rescuing a dog - watching them blossom and become the dog they were meant to be!

She loves to run and play with other dogs, and looks like she'll be quite the little athlete! Because of her circumstances, we're working on Puppy Basics 101 now. She is doing well with crate-training, and quickly improving with potty-training and walking on a leash. She has a gorgeous smooth, glossy brown/black coat...which, depending on the light and her surroundings, sometimes appears more black or even grey, and other times more like a rich chocolate brown. It's true! And those eyes are so loving.

She is friendly and gentle, and will be good with children, once she learns to trust. We've not seen her with cats yet. If you're looking for a calm but playful puppy, and are able to give her the time and patience she needs, Chella might be your girl!

About Cody's Friends Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................

Our Adoption Process...

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. Upon request, they are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $200 to $250 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $300 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.
** Please note that I do not usually adopt out my dogs with children under four years of age.
