Mitchel is a sweetheart! He is a 1-year-old all white Chihuahua mix and weighs 14 pounds. We are happy to help this sweet boy find his happily-ever-after home! Mitchel is unsure of his new surroundings, but when he gets out for some quality time with his volunteer friends, he cheers right up and loves getting attention. He is a little nervous around some new people, but warms up quickly to others. He gets along well with the other dogs. We are still getting to know Mitchel and will update his profile as we learn more about his personality. What we do know is that he is very cute and very very sweet! If you are looking for a sweet little dog, please hurry in to Heartland to meet Mitchel today!

About Heartland Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

Heartland Animal Shelter is a no-kill humane 501 c 3 organization dedicated to finding homeless pets forever homes while educating the public on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets in order to help with the pet overpopulation problem.

Dr. Herbert Preiser, DVM and founder of Heartland Animal Shelter wanted to make a difference by saving the lives of pets who might otherwise be euthanized because of the over-population of unwanted pets. Dr. Preiser opened Heartland Animal Shelter in October of 2002.

Heartland's vision is to eliminate euthanasia to any adoptable animal. Heartland asks for your support by spreading the word about the importance of why pets should be spayed or neutered in order to prevent overpopulation of cats and dogs. Together we can make a difference!
